The response has been... intense. One Instagram post, and we’d sold out within 36 hours. We’re both humbled and thrilled by the incredible feedback rolling in.
“How the F do you sell out of a digital product?”
Fair question. And no, it wasn’t some elaborate marketing ploy – that would insult your intelligence (and ours).
Here’s the deal: our new partners at Native Instruments generate the serial numbers for us. We ordered what we thought was a safe quantity based on past product launches. But as soon as we hit ‘Post’, it became clear this wasn’t like anything we’d released before.
To avoid customers paying and not receiving their serial numbers (you’d have been furious – rightly so), we hit pause until we could restock on Monday.
Good news: we’re fully re-stocked. Better news: based on projections from initial sales, we’ve ordered enough serials to last until the New Year. If we run out again… well, you know who to blame (James).
What Exactly Is Odeholm Drums?
We set out to create a Kontakt drum library that’s truly mix-ready. Not just “good enough to tweak later,” but a library where the processed version sounds exactly like one of Buster’s final mixes.
If you’ve ever watched Buster’s Nail The Mix sessions, you’ll know this requires:
- Expensive plugins
- Complex bus routing
- Hours of meticulous tweaking
- CPU power that could double as a Bitcoin mining rig
But Odeholm Drums bypasses all that. Through countless sampling sessions, tunings, and obsessive attention to detail (Buster spent hours fine-tuning distortion and compression per velocity layer), we’ve managed to bake that signature sound directly into the library.
And based on early feedback, it seems we nailed it. You now have access to that hyperreal, Humanity’s Last Breath drum sound right out of the box – all while using the same CPU load as running Kontakt Player itself:
Key Features and Workflow
At Odeholm Audio, our ethos is simple: we don’t release anything we wouldn’t use ourselves. In fact, earlier versions of this library have been making their way into Buster’s records for months.
The Kit Includes:
- 1 Kick
- 1 Snare (4 Tunings)
- 2 Hi-Hats
- 4 Toms
- 10 Core Cymbals (Multiple Variations)
Key Features:
- Dedicated Reverb Channels: A cornerstone of Buster’s sound.
- Sustain, Pitch, and Polarity Controls: Fine-tune your samples.
- Orientation Toggle: Instantly switch between left and right-handed setups.
- Kick Alternation Toggle: Realistic double-kick switching.
- Automatic Mapping Modes: Default and Alt (mirroring GGD’s layout for seamless integration).
- Load/Export Mapping: Easily save and share your custom maps.
- One-Shot Channels: Extra impact on the unprocessed version’s max velocity triggers.
We intentionally kept things simple yet powerful – the kind of tools we’d want to use in our own workflows.
Crowd-Sourced Improvements
While we’re proud of what we’ve built, your feedback matters.
We’ve already received brilliant requests for E-Kit optimisations and workflow enhancements, and we’re excited to implement these in the New Year.
These updates will be rolled out at no extra cost to existing users. There won't be an "Odeholm Drums 2" that's just this
