THE CHALLENGE

EARN THE ÆSHEN

We’ve teamed up with Hapas Guitars to put Buster’s Æshen pickup on the line - plus the full Odeholm Bass Suite and our TSE & IR Pack. Bryce Butler (Shadow of Intent) programmed ten brutal drum loops with Odeholm Drums as your canvas.

We’ll listen to every entry and crown the heaviest riff, with a runner‑up prize right behind it.

Competition FAQs

To maintain fair judging, please limit your changes to the following:

- Adjustments are allowed to synchronize with your riff.

- You may modify fills, including moving snares if they're part of the fill.

If you've already submitted an entry with a different BPM and wish to re-enter, please email us a new riff using a different loop, explaining that the previous entry had an incorrect tempo.

Anyone, anywhere. All ages and skill levels are welcome. (Minors: get a parent/guardian’s OK if local law requires.)

No. The free loop pack already includes the finished drum stems and MIDI. Use them as‑is or swap sounds - it’s up to you.

No. Feel free to post multiple Reels using different loops or tunings, but we will count your first as your official entry.

We kindly ask that you use the regular tag function instead of the collab post feature.

Our goal is to share all riffs utilising the loops to our story, regardless of whether it's your first entry. This approach encourages broader participation and keeps the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Using the collab post feature could result in our feed being inundated with numerous riffs, making it challenging to manage and potentially forcing us to be selective from the outset, which we'd prefer to avoid.

Entries close 23 May, 23:59 UTC. We'll be announcing the winner on 1 June

Buster and the Odeholm team judge on riff quality, groove fit, and overall impact. Mix polish helps but is not mandatory.

Just the Instagram Reel URL. No need to email audio files unless we contact you after judging.

100 %. You own your music. By entering, you simply allow us to repost your Reel for contest promo and winner announcements.
